little over two years

It's been a little over 2 years since i first wrote here. i've had some adventures, took some trips, but i was never in the right mindset...

Now, i'm back to working and in a situation in which i can really travel... Case in point, right now i'm planning about 4 trips.

March 3- Frisco, Colorado to enter in a snowshoe event for Breast Cancer

May or Mid-July-October I'm planning on going to ireland &/or scotland.  Preferrably solo, but if my parents were to go, i'd be okay with that.

December - Again, to ireland/scotland for my birthday. and because i really wanna see it all snowy and pretty. lol

And then i have a pass with disneyland, so definitely plan on going almost every month because of that. but i can easily make that into a cheap trip. haha  I just need to travel.  I've been letting people and things hold me back, and now that i am working again, i know that i can do it. I just have to start budgeting myself. :)

its been a year, and no updates like i said i would. I'm hoping to change that. I really am. Even if it is adding stuff once a month. I have so many things on my plate right now, but i intend on trying to update my blogs at least once a month. I would like to since i've been lucky enough to go on so many fun trips. & will be doing it again this year. :) so wish me luck that i can do it! :)

hey all...

so, i'm bad. i have YET to get this thing updated on my last trip and we are getting ready to go on our next one. its this monday (12/29) to saturday (1/3) to flagstaff, az. its a 3 hour drive from us, up north. its where i will be living in SIX MONTHS!!! hehe.. yes, its home to NAU. so we are going to look at houses and enjoy the snow, etc. hopefully the snow stays long enough for us to get up there. lol.. i cannot wait. i love the cold. hehe. LOVE IT!! i really do...

But we will be seeing the pine cone drop for new years. hehe! yes, its a lighted pine cone. its like the ball at times square. so, when i'm living up there, everyone will have to come do new years with me to witness this. :)

but i'm hoping to get a little more free time to update the blog on daily events. i really am. mostly because we are staying in state, etc. i'm taking my webcam and am hoping to get some good footage of rain/snow/weather. oh, and got a new camcorder for xmas (and a wii, frig yeah!) and hte camcorder takes memory cards, so i'll be able to download my pics/video from it on a daily basis. so heres to hoping that i finally get this thing updated. if not with last trip, then with the new trip. wish me luck!! :)

oh, and i'm hoping to get some good odd shots. everyone knows how i love the "surreal" take on things. lol

anywho, i'll write more later. i'm currently at my sis's to babysit her son for when she goes into work in the am.. so i best get some sleep or i'll be napping while he plays. lol

sorry all....

i'm busy trying to get my apartment in order for my walk thru on tuesday next week so i can resign my lease. fun fun... so this has been put on hold for the time being. I will be going thru and fixing alot of things, so if you read something (which really, is like only one post) and things on it has changed, dont fret... lol... just revising, editing, remembering, etc. lol... gotta find a few sites that allow me to do little thumbnails of pics that open into other windows into the larger image. that way i can post more pics for your pleasure.

also, alot of things may have dates backwards or dates of recently. i can go in and change the dates manually, so i'll be doing that after i make the posts. that way the events/pics are on the corresponding dates. :)

is there any suggestions from anyone on what you'd like to see/read/hear? requests or hints always help me remember things about the trip better. little things that i had forgotten. lol

anywho, i'm off to finish cleaning my kitchen, then on to take a shower, then finishing putting my clothes away and cleaning the bathroom. GOTTA get ready for bed between 11-1130 so i'm in bed by 12 the latest. Trying to get into my schedule of getting to work early. or at least getting up early so i can exercise before work (eventually).. i'm down 2 pants sizes and 2 bra bust sizes... so yay!!! gotta keep it up. LOL.

Headed out....

Today we were supposed to be on the road by 10AM, but of course there were alot of issues, so we didnt get out till almost noon i think. I had to take ferrets to be boarded and make sure their cage was set up, then get home and pack and get the dog ready to go. then i had to run the fish over to the same place where the kids are being boarded. THEN i couldnt get my suitcase in my trunk which really irritated me. LOL... lots of drama, but in the end, was worth it. :)

Finally, 2 1/2 days and counting....

We leave for our yearly family trip on Wednesday October 15. I cannot wait, its so exciting. :) We are going to stay at Loewe's Coronado Bay again. Such a gorgeous hotel. Hope our rooms as nice as our last one. We will be there until the 26. Not fully sure of everything we are going to be doing, but know we are going to try to do alot of stuff. I'm going to try and get caught up on all my sewing and get some art time in. I'm trying to take advantage of the free time i have before i take classes again.

but will try to post our daily happenings with pictures. At least that's my goal for right now. :)

Embarktion Day (rough draft)

(this is a rough draft to remember things as they come along. will embelish later and rewrite to give it more of a story feel)
May 20, 2006:

The flight to hawaii was interesting. We each got a personal handheld dvd player, which was odd for any airline. luckily, more then one headphone jack could plug into it so my mom and i ended up sharing one and watching a few movies together. i think we watched nanny mcphee, stuart little 2 (or 3, forget how many there are) and something else. My dad enjoyed that when he wasnt passed out with his arms across his chest, head back and mouth open (i now know where i've developed this habit from).

When we finally landed, we were so ancy, we couldnt wait to get off. Could have been the excitement of FINALLY being in hawaii, or could be the fact that my mom and i had to pee unbelievably bad. Needless to say, we made a mad dash off the plane and to the nearest restroom, leaving my dad behind and to wait with all the carryons.
We slowly made our way through the terminals, weaving through asian tourists and employees. All the signs were in either english, japanese, or hawaiin. It was very different to see signs that did not have only spanish/english translations. The walkways between terminals had been kept windowless, allowing cool breezes to float through. the smell of wet branches and flowers was overpowering in a relaxing way.

We eventually gatherd all our luggage and found a taxi, slowly making our way to the port where we would embark on our cruise. Our driver was a friendly man, answering questions my mom threw at him. The drive was absolutely amazing. although you could see the shambles, the "poor" houses scattered along the mountainsides.

We finally made it to port, but were informed we would not have enough time to go visit pearl harbor like we were hoping (which we later discovered we would have had enough time). We went and threw all our luggage into our suite. a huge room with a king size bed and a couch that folded out into a queen size bed. the balcony was amazing all its own, easily able to fit 2 king beds and a queen. that, when on the ship, was where we spent most of our time. especially at night while we sailed to our next port. sitting out on the balcony, in the dark, in the middle of the ocean was like sitting in a dark room, imagining you are the only one left, the only one alive.

• walking and as you walk, the boat shifting and your foot being lifted instead of lowerd.
